Criminology in Mexico

Interviewing people working on the criminology units in Mexico city, like investigators, cops and people who work/worked in the Federal Ministerial Police, to understand the difference between this science approach in Mexico and the U.S.

About the project

ince I was little I was always interested in criminology, and what most facinates me apart from the aspects of true crime like every type of murder, is behaviour analysis, which basically is the scientific study of the principles of learning and behavior, understanding, describing, predicting and the changing of behavior, seeking answers in biological and enviromental factors, and its very helpfull in criminology, especially in Criminal Profiling , which is called criminal behaviour analysis, exploring the motivations of violent criminals like homocides, shootings, rapes, cults, mass murders, plane highjackings, kidnappings and more, and the crimes committed, what drove them emotionally to commit them, the triggers in their life that brought them to the edge of starting that crime, how to find the UNSUB (unknown subject). The BAU (Behavior Analysis unit) was founded in 1985 and the BAU headquarters are in Quantico, Virginia. They are part of the FBI and local police and investigators usually call them for help when they have trouble finding leads, or
the crimes get out of control and out of their hands, they usually call them when 2-3 or more crimes like serial killings, rapes, abductions ect happen.

For my project I will interview the people working on the criminology units in Mexico city, like investigators, cops and people who work/worked in the Federal Ministerial Police (The FBI of Mexico), especially dealing with violent crimes like murders. I would ask them the difference they have between the criminology in Mexico and the United States Of America, their funding, resources, education, and overall help from the government. I was given the opportunity for personal reasons to come to a headquarter where they interrogate violent criminals, and noticed how dirty it was, and it didn't look modern, so i want to research and get knowledge from actual workers of how the criminology career here in Mexico is like, and possibly come up with a solution.
My goal for this project is to see the differences of criminology in Mexico and the United States. The subjects will include crime scene investigation, behaviour analysis, criminology education, law and lawyers and the justice system.
Not only will I focus on behaviour analysis in this project, but I will also focus on the funding, treatment, training, locations and resources of every jurisdiction of crime, like police stations, criminal detention centers, interrogating centers, schools and more. Especially how different it is from the United States, since I once had the opportunity to go to a district where they interrogate criminals who committed serious crimes, and I noticed how underfunded it was from the government. Not only was it dirty, but it wasn’t well kept, the chairs, tables and more items were damaged including the walls. and how the phones didn't work properly and how the lights were flickering.
For this project I would use the Global context of Scientific & Technological Innovation, since criminology for me is not only stopping a percentage of the evil people of this world, but also understanding how the people and this world is like, especially those who commit serious unthinkable things and crimes, that are so cruel or disturbing that the average person wouldn't think would happen. Some examples of this global context are the natural world and its laws, the interaction of people and the world, and the impact that humans have round us and in our environment.
