For my personal project I decided to work on a show because I wanted to work on animation and design when I grow up and so I want to know the work and experience you need for the job. This topic is important to me because I want to learn good storytelling and also I want to see how people work in the industry.
My goal is to have a story board and also the character designs finalized for an original story. This work will allow me to make a character chart so that it helps animators and myself to stay in the model. This is challenging for me because I want to work and I want to get my work done but I have a lot of issues with my planning and self-management skills.
The global context that best relates to my project is personal and cultural expression. It is related because I want to express different things like culture and also other things I like to express my life and also my life experiences.
Before I started the project, I already knew how hard it was going to be but I wanted to creatively express different things like religious background, different societies and more.
In order to start, I did some research about animation and its principles. Animation is basically “the technique of photographing successive drawings or positions of puppets or models to create an illusion of movement when the movie is shown as a sequence.” animation is also used to tell a very meaningful story for example: steven universe, adventure time, regular show and the new ones like the owl house and amphibia. I learned that animation is basically representing a story or something else, most of the things that animation is used for is comedy. Animation is a very hard process and sometimes it is really hard to work on it because it is a very lengthy process. It mostly is getting to work with a big team and also having storyboards and the scripts ready so that the actors and the animators know what the atmosphere of some scenes are and so that the actors and proform the scene well so that it isn't confusing to the people who watch and also to the people who animate the show.
I also did some research on storytelling and also watched some shows that have storytelling in it. My main sources are my teachers like my art teacher and also the videos on skillshare. I chose them because the teacher helped me to learn and see the basics of animation and courses about character development and storytelling on skillshare.
